Strokker geyser

Strokkur 2The pics are from the geyser "Strokkur" which goes off every 4-5 minutes. Notice there are hardly any trees. All of the evergreens on the island have been imported and planted. It's too cold for much else.

geysir geyser

The original and much bigger geyser "Geysir" was dormant for several years until a minor earthquake last year, but it only goes off a few times a day and it's not predictable and didn't even flinch while we were at the geyser field.
